SPIRTAS Wrecking Co. was contracted to bring the old Jefferson Ave. bridge down.

The clean up went on all through the night as rail traffic continued to pass the work site.

Jefferson 1-3

A 350 ton crane is set up and prepares to set the last five girders into place as a train clears up heading east on UP #2.

Jefferson 1-4

The crew is ready to go to work as soon as the traffic clears. A special thanks to Dan-Hippie-Zuroweste for a professional job as site supervisor and Union Pacific Forman Lewis Barnes for keeping everyone safe.

Each girder weighs in at over 30 tons. The crew was very efficient and safety was the No. 1 concern. Gershenson Const. Co. gets the credit for rebuilding the bridge.
